99 Steps — known by the people who climbed it.
Nelson Lookout is the official name. To generations of East End kids and families, it was simply 99 Steps.
The name lived through neighbourhood shorthand—passed between friends, used for walks and shortcuts, and remembered by people who grew up nearby. It may never have appeared on a city sign, but it became part of the local landscape all the same.
The 99 Steps Tee preserves that unofficial name in a restrained archival design, featuring a simplified stairway icon and understated typography. The idea came from a suggestion shared by local resident Lorraine Clark in the Barrie Ward 1 Community Board, who remembered growing up calling Nelson Lookout “99 Steps.”
Printed in a warm vintage-inspired ink on a soft, lightweight Next Level crew tee, it is designed to feel easy from the first wear—not stiff, bulky, or like conventional souvenir merchandise.

How to measure: Lay a similar shirt flat. Measure the body width one inch below the armhole, and measure the body length from the centre-back neckline seam to the bottom hem.
